Phonetic: Trip-oh-sperm-um
Tripospermum is widespread and has been isolated from rainwater, leaves, and aquatic sediment. This fungus is a causal organism of sooty mold, which develops on the surface of fruits as a result of dew deposited by sucking insects. It will not completely cover the fruit but appears as irregular, thin, black spots to the tip of the fruit, and the fruit will have a dirty appearance. Culture - Potato dextrose agar or Malt extract agar, 20° – 25°C, 7 – 10 days.
