Verticimonosporium
Phonetic: Vert-ee-see-mon-oh-spore-ee-um
Verticimonosporium is a mitosporic (lacks a sexual state) fungus that has been isolated from dry leaves and needles. Verticimonosporium produces the trichothecene mycotoxin, which is a toxic chemical produced by various species of fungi. Culture - Potato dextrose agar or Malt extract agar, 20° – 25°C, 7 – 10 days
