Phonetic: Sphair-oh-spore-ee-um

Sphaerosporium is a widespread mitosporic fungus commonly found on dead wood. This fungus has only one species, Sphaerosporium lignatile. It has been found in areas such as Ontario, Canada and in the northeastern United States. Culture - Potato dextrose agar, 20° – 25°C, 7 – 10 days.
