Stilbum
Phonetic: Still-bum
Stilbum is a cosmopolitan fungus mostly found in tropical to sub-tropical areas, but can rarely be found in the temperate northern hemisphere. It has been isolated from the hyphae of rotten fungi, and is saprophytic on wood, bark, stems, and other organic debris from a wide variety of plants. It is more commonly associated with other fungi. Culture - Potato dextrose agar, 20° – 25°C, 7 – 10 days.
